Ke’Shawn Vaughn, RB, Vanderbilt

Obviously Todd Gurley has been brought in to be the lead running back in the Atlanta Falcons backfield, so it is hard to believe that they will use early draft capital early in the 2020 NFL Draft. With that being said though, I do believe it will be wise to invest a late draft pick at the running back position to build needed depth behind the former MVP-caliber running back.

Ito Smith and Brian Hill are behind Gurley currently as the complementary backs, but Ke’Shawn Vaughn is one of the most underrated backs in this draft class and can provide a lot of upside in a supporting role with Todd Gurley. If the Atlanta Falcons commit to Smith and Hill being the primary backs on the roster behind Gurley, I think the Falcons running back room will still be in good shape, though.

Antonio Gandy-Golden, WR, Liberty

Antonio Gandy-Golden of Liberty is a great option early on day three for the Atlanta Falcons to look to get a sure-handed field stretcher to play on the outside opposite of Julio Jones. Gandy-Golden has been a consistent, yet dominant force for the Liberty Flames throughout his four-year collegiate career.

Outside of Jones and Calvin Ridley, the Atlanta Falcons are needing depth at the wide receiver position that can provide a presence worthy of keying in on by opposing defenses. With a quarterback like Matt Ryan, Antonio Gandy-Golden can stretch the field vertically with a wide catch radius and enough athleticism to beat defenders off the line.

The Atlanta Falcons have the roster talent that should compete for a deep playoff run each season. All eyes will be on the head coach, Dan Quinn, and general manager, Thomas Dimitroff, as they look to make a splash during the 2020 NFL Draft. Another disappointing season and both of them may see their names in the news as notable firings in the NFL next offseason.
