Late-Round prospects Miami Dolphins should target in 2020 NFL Draft
Wide Receiver
The Miami Dolphins are pretty set on the outside at the moment, with DeVante Parker and Preston Williams likely to secure starting spots early in training camp. However, adding more weapons in the passing game for a rookie quarterback is always a good move. Taking someone in this deep class is a good idea.
1. John Hightower, Boise State
Offenses are continuing to value speed in the NFL, and the Dolphins shouldn’t be different. John Hightower is one of the better sleepers in the class, and brings that next-level speed to the table, along with an electric nature after the catch. He can track the ball vertically and be a smooth operator in the slot for Miami’s rookie signal-caller.
2. Joe Reed, Virginia
Speaking of great players after the catch, Virginia’s Joe Reed would fit well in the slot in this offense. He isn’t the most sudden route runner, and wouldn’t face a lot of press in the slot. Reed is a reliable pass catcher, but the real fun begins with the ball in his hands.
He has the straight-line speed, toughness, and quickness to make defenders miss early and often after the catch. Reed can become a nice player early on for the Dolphins.
