The Denver Broncos take advantage of Jerry Jeudy tumbling down the boards, selecting him at 15 overall in the 2020 NFL Draft

It has happened. John Elway finally selected an Alabama prospect in the NFL Draft.

Reports surfaced of an apparent injury concern for Jerry Jeudy just days before the 2020 NFL Draft. Vic Fangio and the Denver Broncos did not flinch on that as they decided to capitalize on Jeudy falling right to their hands in the middle of the first round. Denver had to bring another weapon and they got fantastic value here with their initial selection. It was the perfect call indeed.

Drew Lock relied heavily, too heavily, on Courtland Sutton last season. Sutton carried the receiving core on his shoulder pads, earning more than 550 yards and three touchdowns through the air than the next leading offensive candidate. That officially ends here.

Drew Lock should be one happy camper as he was desperate for more quality weapons. The team finished with the 28th ranked passing attack in 2019.

This pick was a phenomenal one. Jeudy was my top wideout in the 2020 NFL Draft and to snag him at 15 is nothing short of incredible. It has to be one of Elway’s best and most logical picks to date.

Jeudy possesses massive upside from both the outside and slot. He can create separation at the line with his outstanding release and packs along with a bundle of routes in his arsenal. His long legs grant him butter-smooth wiggle and agility to dominate with the ball in his hands. Throw it up to him and watch him prosper and make a play on the fly. Many can state this with confidence: he’s the best wide receiver prospect from Alabama to be selected since Julio Jones. Now that truly says something.

The receiver will be a game-changer downfield in the passing game for Drew Lock; it will also be a threat behind the line on bubble screens and jet sweeps. Pairing him up with Sutton will instantly make this offense more dynamic. Jeudy finished with over 1,000 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns in both his junior and senior years at Alabama.

Next. Broncos had extensive communication with WRs before draft. dark

This pick puts the cherry on top of the productive offseason the Denver Broncos have had. Honestly, any fan for the Denver Broncos should be more than just satisfied with this choice. Sutton and Jeudy are going to be a special receiving tandem in the Mile High City. This new-look offense has shaped up to be extremely deadly on paper.
