Minnesota Vikings: First-round 2020 NFL Draft targets

Neville Gallimore DT
Projected Starters: Michael Pierce, Shamar Stephen
As previously mentioned, Minnesota will be dealing with the loss of star defensive end Everson Griffen this next season. As well as a loss on the edge, interior defensive lineman Linval Joseph will be leaving as well. The 323-pound tackle was let go after a less than impressive 2019 campaign which saw a downturn in overall quality of play and statistical production.
Minnesota needs to revamp the interior of their defensive line to retain a competitive pass-rush, and the defensive tackles at the back of the first-round suit their needs well.
Neville Gallimore is a 304-pound defensive tackle out of Oklahoma with the ability to both stand his ground against the run and create pressure from the interior. His 4.79 forty at the NFL combine showed his mobility downfield, and impressive drills at both the senior bowl and combine showed quick feet to move laterally at the next level.
Gallimore also brings quality hand-fighting to the table to create pressure, using swim, spin, and chop moves to work past interior offensive lineman during his time at Oklahoma.
Minnesota needs a new presence in the middle of their defense, and Gallimore looks to be a consistently productive defensive tackle at the NFL level who can solidify an interior run defense as well as generate pass-pressure for edge rushers and rake in a nice crop of sacks every season.
