Las Vegas Raiders 7-round 2020 mock draft: Adding a playmaker
By Tyler Kirk
Round 5
The Las Vegas Raiders add Anferee Jennings to his teammate Henry Ruggs and select another Alabama player. Jennings is a physical player who uses his size to control the line of scrimmage. He captures the edge and does a great job of chasing down plays from behind. Jennings has a knack for knowing where the football is on plays to his backside.
I think that Jennings can be an early-down player to start his young career as he just lacks the first-step quickness and burst. I think that he will have to be left defensive end with the Raiders and work against the team’s right tackle in rushing situations. He is limited as far as his athletic ability.
Jennings brings maturity and a high football IQ to his game. I think that he is a stout run defender with limited pass-rush ability. Jennings can be multiple in the positions he can play, as he can stand up and rush or put his hands in the dirt. When picking in the fifth round the Las Vegas Raiders wanted to grab another edge rusher to rotate with Maxx Crosby, Clelin Ferrell, Carl Nassib, and Arden Key.
This pick for the Raiders gives them more depth and ability to have multiple fronts. I think within a few years Jennings can be a starter for this team but for the early portions of his career, I believe he is a rotational player with special teams ability.
Overall, with this selection of Jennings, this would be the Las Vegas Raiders’ last pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. But I think if the Raiders fall in love with a player in the sixth and seventh-round they could jump back in to get their guy.
