Quarterback and the other top 2020 NFL Draft needs for Indianapolis Colts
Offensive Line Depth
The Indianapolis Colts have a strong starting five on the offensive line. From left to right; Anthony Castonzo, Quenton Nelson, Ryan Kelly, Mark Glowinski and Braden Smith is about as good as it gets. That being said, they still lack impact depth across the unit.
Castonzo reportedly considered retirement earlier this offseason and Kelly is a free agent after the season. If nothing else, the Colts should look to find some developmental prospects late in the 2020 NFL Draft who could potentially take over for one of these guys should they lose them.
Running Back
Marlon Mack has grown into a strong option at the running back position, but he will hit free agency after the 2020 season. It’s unlikely that Ballard will pay him top-tier money at the position, so the Colts should look for a potential replacement in the 2020 NFL Draft.
If they want to invest some higher draft capital in the position, Cam Akers would be a perfect fit for this team. Zack Moss is another player who would make sense for Indy. If the Colts decide to wait until Day 3, Eno Benjamin, Ke’Shawn Vaughn, Anthony McFarland, Darrynton Evans and Lamical Perine would all be worthy targets.
Interior Defensive Line
The addition of Buckner obviously helps, but the Indianapolis Colts still lack impact players throughout their interior defensive line rotations. Prior to the Buckner trade, this was their number one need. Now, they can wait to address the position until later in the draft. Khalil Davis, Benito Jones and Tyler Clark are just a few Day 3 interior defensive linemen who should appeal to this team.
