Quarterback and the other top 2020 NFL Draft needs for Indianapolis Colts
Pinpointing the top positions of need for the Indianapolis Colts entering the 2020 NFL Draft.
It has certainly been an interesting offseason for the Indianapolis Colts. Their first major move came when they signed veteran quarterback Philip Rivers to a one-year, $25 million free-agent contract.
Rivers did not play well in 2019, but he has always been a guy who has struggled with pressure and the Los Angeles Chargers simply did not protect him well. The Colts have a much better offensive line than the Chargers and should be able to keep Rivers clean in the pocket. Can he get his career back on track behind this strong offensive line? The Colts are betting their 2020 season on it.
The Indianapolis Colts also made a massive addition to their defense, trading for interior defensive lineman DeForest Buckner from the San Francisco 49ers. Buckner is one of the premier interior rushers in the entire NFL and he will undoubtedly take their defense to the next level. The price tag of the 13th overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft and a four-year, $84 million contract extension was hefty, but Buckner is undoubtedly good enough to be worth the investment.
Led by the additions of Rivers and Buckner, the Indianapolis Colts could take a major step forward in 2020. However, in order for that to happen, they still have holes on their roster that must be addressed. The Colts no longer have a first-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, but they still have plenty of capital to find impact players to fill those holes.
In this post, we are going to take a look at the top positions of need for the Indianapolis Colts entering the 2020 NFL Draft. Let’s get started.
