Round 6/192 – Colby Parkinson, TE, Stanford

After the departure of Jimmy Graham this offseason, the Packers’ top targets at tight end are Marcedes Lewis and Jace Sternberger. Lewis will be 36-years-old when the season starts and Sternberger missed his entire rookie season due to injury last year. While I have no doubt Sternberger will be given the chance to prove his worth as a former third-round pick in 2019, I still expect the Packers to add more talent at the position in the 2020 NFL Draft.

After addressing some more pressing needs with their early-round picks, I have Green Bay finally landing some competition at tight end by adding Colby Parkinson out of Stanford with the 192nd overall pick.

Parkinson is a huge target at 6-foot-7 and has some mitts on him that make him a dangerous weapon in the red zone and short-yardage situations. He is more of a flex tight end than he is an inline guy but adding him this late in the draft could allow him to improve in certain areas that could make him a solid TE2 in a couple of years.

Round 6/209 – Khalil Davis, DT, Nebraska

Most of the Green Bay Packers needs come on the offensive side of the football, but there are several positions on their defense that could use some added depth. So, after going offense with five of their first six draft picks, I have the Packers taking defensive tackle, Khalil Davis.

Davis was a pretty productive player with the Cornhuskers, finishing his career with 24 tackles for a loss and 13 sacks but he really flew onto radars after showing off some jaw-dropping athleticism at the combine.

Davis turned in the fastest 40-yard dash amongst interior defensive lineman with a 4.76 and had the second-most bench press reps with 34. That quickness and power show up pretty often in his game too, unfortunately for Davis, he is limited by his size.

If Davis were two inches taller, he may very well be an early Day-2 prospect, but alas his size and lack of length drop his value enough for the Packers to land a quality football player with the 209th overall pick of the 2020 NFL Draft.
