The Dallas Cowboys have some holes to fill early on in the 2020 NFL Draft, but what are some sleeper targets they could take after round one?

The Dallas Cowboys lost some key contributors in free agency last month and didn’t necessarily find replacements for them. So there should be a big emphasis on the 2020 NFL Draft and how they can best fill those holes.

Jerry Jones is always a wild card during the draft and you cannot rule out any scenario when it comes to the Dallas Cowboys. However, there’s a general consensus that he will select the best available defensive player at seventeen overall.

Dallas lost starting cornerback Byron Jones when he signed the richest contract by a defensive back in league history with the Miami Dolphins. They figure to fill that ginormous hole during the first couple rounds of the 2020 NFL Draft.

They also lost pass rusher Robert Quinn after he signed a five-year, $70 million deal with the Chicago Bears. Quinn posted 11.5 sacks last season with Dallas, which was his first double-digit sack season since 2014. A pass rusher is definitely in play for Dallas in the first round.

Whichever position the Dallas Cowboys do not address in the first two rounds, they’ll have to attack later in the draft. Now, there are many prospects that have the chance to be late-round steals, but it’s up to the scouts to find them. Usually, the difference between contenders and pretends lies in the depth they have on their roster. General managers that have success after the first two rounds usually find themselves in winning organizations.

There have been several players throughout the history of the NFL to find great success as a late-round draft pick. We all know the story of the greatest quarterback to ever play the game, Tom Brady. I’m not saying that there will be any players of that caliber, but there are some sleeper targets that may not be getting the love they deserve.
