Atlanta Falcons: Possible trade-up Targets in the 2020 NFL Draft
3.) Jeffrey Okudah, CB, Ohio State
The Atlanta Falcons would likely have to give the farm to move up high enough to take Jeffrey Okudah. However, we have heard speculation that Atlanta might be the most aggressive team in this year’s draft. That tells me they may look to jump into the top-five or so and give a comparable package to the Julio Jones trade to get there.
After parting ways with Desmond Trufant, the Falcons are with Isaiah Oliver as their current number one guy on the depth chart. In a division with Drew Brees throwing the Michael Thomas and, now, Tom Brady throwing to Mike Evans and Chris Godwin, Atlanta must prioritize the cornerback position if they want to make a run at the division crown.
If the Atlanta Falcons get aggressive and do move into the top five, I think it’d be for Ohio State’s Jeffrey Okudah. A complete prospect, Okudah could come right into Atlanta and be the number one cornerback on the roster. Length, physicality, and footwork are three of the most important traits for defensive backs coming into the league and Okudah is top of the class at each.
Some other notable names the Atlanta Falcons could target in a trade-up situation: C.J. Henderson, CB from Florida, K’Lavon Chaisson, EDGE from LSU, and Javon Kinlaw, IDL from South Carolina.
