1.) Isaiah Simmons, LB/S, Clemson

Who is Isaiah Simmons, and why does he fit the Atlanta Falcons defense? Well, he can simply do it all. He’s listed as a linebacker right now, but don’t be mistaken, he can play anywhere on the defensive side of the football.

He has the speed and instincts to play in deep and intermediate zones. Simmons has the footwork and strength to man up against quick slot receivers as well as big-bodied tight-ends. Please don’t forget how impactful he is against the run game too.

Versatility is not always a good thing. Past prospects, like Jabrill Peppers, predicated their game on their versatility just to get to the NFL and have a hard time finding a spot where they excelled. The difference for Simmons, though, is that he plays each of these roles exceptionally well. His presence in any role you play him will force opponents’ offenses to locate him on every down.

He is a position-less player. The Atlanta Falcons could use him in their defense that, unfortunately, has dealt with injuries over the last couple of seasons all over the defense. He can play full-time for the Atlanta Falcons in the slot with the capability to take over a role at safety if Keanu Neal gets injured which is something that seems to happen unfortunately every season.
