13. 6. player. Tua Tagovailoa. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Quarterback. Alabama

Just after I get done saying why Tua Tagovailoa is not worthy of the fifth overall pick, I have him coming off the board just one spot later in my 2020 NFL Mock Draft. While his injury history is concerning to me, all signs point to the fact that he is healthy now. And one thing is for sure… Tua will sell tickets.

That aspect of this selection cannot be overlooked. While Miami forced their hand a bit, I have a feeling that the Chargers would take Tua if given the choice. He is more polished, can lead an already talented offense and will become the face of a franchise that recently changed cities, just unveiled new uniforms and will be moving into a new stadium this season.

Tua is undoubtedly one of the most hyped and buzzed prospects in recent memory. Every football fan knows the name, knows the face, and will likely pay to see him play on Sundays. I’m not saying the Chargers drafted Tua because he’s popular, I’m just saying that the marketing department won’t be mad.

On the field, Tua brings a lot of desirable qualities to the table. He is outstanding as an RPO operator and quick-rhythm passer. He has decent zip and impressive touch to all areas of the field and can throw receivers open with great anticipation and ball placement.

No one really knows how these two quarterbacks are going to come off the board, but these fits make the most sense to me. Herbert can take some time to develop and help turn the Miami franchise around, while Tua can sit behind Tyrod Taylor for a bit in LA to fully recover from his hip injury before being handed the reigns of a talented offense and being touted as the face of the franchise.
