2. 58. Scouting Report. Ohio State. Chase Young. Pick Analysis. Defensive End. player

The only other pick I’m close to 100% confident about in this 2020 NFL Mock Draft is this one. Chase Young going number two to the Washington Redskins.

This makes two years in a row that a Buckeye defensive end goes second overall, and back-to-back Urban Meyer recruits atop the 2020 NFL Mock Draft.

The Washington Redskins have quietly been building one of the more impressive young defensive lines in the league. With Montez Sweat on one end and Da’Ron Payne and Jonathan Allen in the middle, Chase Young could complete that project and make that front a force to be reckoned with.

With Ryan Kerrigan still on the roster, edge rusher may not have been the hand-picked position of need that the team wanted to address at the top of the 2020 NFL Mock Draft, but there is no way they are passing on a player like Young.

“The Predator” is an absolutely dominant force on the football field. With speed or power, Young is going to get around you or through you and to the quarterback. In 2019 at Ohio State, Young led the nation in both sacks and forced fumbles despite missing two games due to a suspension (NCAA violation-not concerning to NFL teams).

What’s really scary is that I don’t think Young is really even close to reaching his full potential. He was out there dominating at the highest level of competition in college football without a whole lot of real rush moves in his arsenal. As he continues to learn and develop at the NFL level, it will be fun to see what Young can truly become.
