2020 NFL Mock Draft: Three rounds with latest rumors and predictions
Three of the people in the picture above are eligible to be taken in this 2020 NFL Mock Draft. Two of them, however, are all but locks to be the first two players off the board.
With the first pick in the 2020 NFL Mock Draft, the Cincinnati Bengals select… Joe Burrow, quarterback, LSU. The first line uttered by the commissioner following “The Cincinnati Bengals are on the clock” will be something mighty close to that. There is just no other option.
If the Miami Dolphins REALLY loved Joe Burrow and would give up anything to get him, the Bengals may entertain an offer. But it would cost them a boatload and then some. So in this 2020 NFL Mock Draft, the Bengals stand strong and take their franchise quarterback.
Burrow is from Athens, Ohio, which isn’t terribly far from Cincinnati considering the other possible destinations. Burrow played at Ohio State before transferring to LSU and eventually becoming a Heisman Trophy winner and undefeated national champion. Ohio is in his blood and he is bound to stay here, at least for a while.
If Joe Burrow’s 2019 season wasn’t the best by a quarterback in college football history, I’d love to see what was. On the stat sheet, on the film and in the win column, Joe Burrow did everything right.
Burrow has incredible pocket presence, outstanding touch, impressive mobility and is a fantastic leader on the field. After not winning the starting job with the Buckeyes and an average debut season with the Tigers, Burrow made 2019 one for the history books, vaulting him to the top of this 2020 NFL Mock Draft and nearly every other one across the globe.
Joe Burrow is seriously the most well-rounded, NFL-ready quarterback prospect that I have seen since Andrew Luck. Despite some whispers that Burrow may not want to play for the Bengals, this is a home run selection. I full expect at least this pick of my 2020 NFL Mock Draft to go exactly as planned to open draft night.
