2020 NFL Mock Draft: Three rounds with latest rumors and predictions
There have been rumors about the Denver Broncos potentially trading up to lock in one of the top three wide receivers in the draft, namely, Jerry Jeudy.
However, in this 2020 NFL Mock Draft no trade was necessary. John Elway and the Broncos stayed put and would up getting their guy at 15.
It seems pretty clear that the Broncos have been eyeing the top wide receiver prospects for some time now. After losing Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders in the past couple seasons, Courtland Sutton has stepped up as a fine, young receiver. But Denver needs to add another weapon for Drew Lock to throw to.
Sutton and Jeudy should complement each other beautifully. Sutton is bigger and wins more down the field and on contested catches. Jeudy, on the other hand, is one of the best route runners that I have ever seen.
Jeudy’s routes are crisp, precise and deceptive. He uses his and to fake the defender out and has incredibly quick feet to change directions in an instant, springing himself open. Jeudy is effective down the field as well, but thrive coming out of the slot on intermediate routes where he can make defenders look silly.
Perhaps Elway does decide to pull the trigger on a trade up, but I think the real draft will play out similarly to this 2020 NFL Mock Draft. There should be at least one of the top three receivers on the board at 15. If not, the Broncos could trade down like they did last year and accumulate more draft capital to help round out their roster.
