2020 NFL Draft: Miami Dolphins trade up targets include QB, OL
Offensive Tackle
This is the other position to watch heavily for the Miami Dolphins. If the pick at five is a quarterback or ends up higher via a trade, it would be excellent if Miami could hang on to that 18th pick, as it could come in handy. It’s clear that Miami needs help on the offensive line at most spots.
The offensive tackle class looks very deep this year, but there are four big names at the top who analysts are pretty clear on making an early impact.
Alabama’s Jedrick Wills is a great pass protector with a mean streak at the point of attack. Iowa’s Tristan Wirfs is a great athlete with the versatility to play on either side of the offensive line. Louisville’s Mekhi Becton could be mistaken for “The Mountain” in Game of Thrones, and he shows surprisingly solid pass sets and mobility for his size. Georgia’s Andrew Thomas is one of the most refined pass blockers in recent years.
If only three of the top four are gone after the New York Jets pick at 11, the Dolphins should pounce at the opportunity to get the fourth guy, because the Buccaneers won’t hesitate at 14. Trading up with the Raiders makes a ton of sense for both sides, and the Dolphins would get a great player to start their offensive line rebuild.
