Pick Analysis. University of Missouri. Jordan Elliott. 50. Scouting Report. Interior Defensive Lineman. 85. player

After shopping in the defense aisle in rounds one and two, the Detroit Lions briefly switched things up and browsed the offense aisle with the 67th overall pick. Now, the Lions are back to the defensive side of the ball and looking for an interior defender to shore up the line.

Often overlooked due to the few game-changers at the position in the 2020 NFL Draft, Derrick Brown, and Javon Kinlaw, Elliott has the potential to become a quality starter for an NFL team. Elliott burst onto the scene this past year, showing he can win pass-rush competitions on a regular basis and can defend against the run adeptly as well.

Pro Football Focus, a site that grades every player, ranks Elliott as the third-best interior defensive lineman in the draft, above guys such as Neville Gallimore and Justin Madubuike. Elliott has the size, strength, and athleticism needed to successfully man the middle of a defensive NFL line.

PFF graded Elliott at a 91.1 grade in both run and pass defense and was the top-graded defensive lineman in both SEC play and the FBS as a whole. Elliott presents a quality option for the Lions late in the third round and would give them a nice rotating piece his rookie season who can eventually be a three-down starter in Detroit.
