After trading down from the eighth overall pick, the Cardinals finally get some protection for Kyler Murray.

Josh Jones was a team captain at Houston whose play improved dramatically from his junior to senior seasons, and he had one of the best weeks in Mobile at the Senior Bowl of any player.

For Arizona, he’d start off as a right tackle for offensive line coach Sean Kugler who will have to coach him up in his footwork, but the upside and potential are definitely there.

The Cardinals could go a number of directions in this first round, but after trading for DeAndre Hopkins, every move they make is going to feel like icing on the cake.

The wisest course of action for them is to go with an offensive lineman, and if they stay put at eight overall, that’s probably exactly what they will do. If not, there are good linemen to be had all over the first round, and Josh Jones is just one of many.
