Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Mekhi Becton. OT. Louisville. 14. player. 48

There’s no So You Signed Tom Brady handbook, but you can bet your bottom dollar that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are going to invest their top pick — potentially even in a trade-up effort — to secure an offensive lineman to help protect him.

The Bucs getting Brady in-house means they are officially all-in and adding a player like Mekhi Becton would further prove that.

Becton is a mamoth of a tackle at 6-foot-7, 364 pounds. He ran one of the most impressive 40-yard dashes you will ever see at the Scouting Combine at that size.

There’s no doubt the Bucs would love to see Becton sitting here with the 14th overall pick. He’s one of the biggest, longest tackle prospects in the draft, he’s obviously a heck of an athlete, and what are you supposed to do to get to the quarterback against this guy?

He’s too long and strong to go straight through him. He’s too athletic and nimble to consistently just get around him.

Perhaps some other team will not overthink that and take him long before this, but I think in Bruce Arians’ offense with Tom Brady at the helm, Becton is a perfect fit.
