Pick Analysis. player. 52. Scouting Report. Defensive Tackle . Auburn. Derrick Brown . 9

So far this offseason, the Jacksonville Jaguars have been systematically dismantling their defense by trading away veterans like Calais Campbell and A.J. Bouye as well as releasing Marcell Dareus. With defensive end Yannick Ngakoue potentially out the door as well, Jacksonville has several holes to fill on the defensive side of the ball.

To replace Dareus while providing Taven Bryan with a running mate, here they take Auburn defensive tackle Derrick Brown. For the past two seasons, Brown has been one of the most disruptive defensive tackles in the SEC, blending strength and power to overwhelm opponents at the line of scrimmage. Brown has proven himself to be in the top tier of defensive lineman in the 2020 NFL Draft.

Scouting Report. Offensive Tackle . player. Pick Analysis. Georgia. Andrew Thomas. 10. 53

After seemingly recapturing his college form, offensive tackle Greg Robinson took a step back his second year in Cleveland. Over on the right side of the line, Chris Hubbard also has been inconsistent since signing a five-year deal in 2018. To fix this, the Browns brought in Jack Conklin from the Tennessee Titans to take over duties at right tackle. By drafting Andrew Thomas, Cleveland gets one of the better tackles in the 2020 NFL Draft and fixture at left tackle to protect Baker Mayfield’s blindside.

player. Offensive Tackle . 11. Iowa. Tristan Wirfs. 30. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis

In 2019, the New York Jets offensive line was ranked 28th by Pro Football Focusallowing pressure in 2.5 seconds or less on 27.5% of their dropbacks. To fix this, GM Joe Douglas re-signed Alex Lewis in addition to signing George Fant, Greg Van Roten and Connor McGovern however more work is needed if they want to keep Sam Darnold clean. A good start would be drafting a player like Tristan Wirfs here at pick eleven. Wirfs provides positional versatility and sound technique to an offensive line that needs a shot in the arm.

Wide Receiver . player. Alabama. Jerry Jeudy . 12. 28. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis

In the aftermath of the Antonio Brown affair, the then Oakland Raiders pressed on through the 2019 season with Tyrell Williams, Hunter Renfrow and Zay Jones. With the 2020 NFL Draft being a historic year for the wide receiver position, it seems fitting that the Las Vegas Raiders are the first team to take a wide receiver.

Jerry Jeudy is an elite receiver prospect, showing very savvy route running and highly consistent hands. Jeudy can come in day one and be a dominant wide receiver for Las Vegas for a long time.

13. player. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Wide Receiver . Oklahoma. CeeDee Lamb . 42

The San Francisco 49ers surprised everyone when they traded star defensive tackle Deforrest Buckner to the Indianapolis Colts for this pick. While I don’t think they’ll take another defensive lineman here, they are in a prime spot to take a wide receiver to pair with Deebo Samuel and Jalen Hurd.

While there are those that believe Jeudy is the best receiver in the 2020 NFL Draft, there are others who believe Oklahoma’s CeeDee Lamb is the best of the bunch and its not hard to see why. Lamb is a tough route runner who plays much bigger than his listed height of 6-1. Although he may not be a burner, Lamb has all of the tools to succeed at the next level.

48. Pick Analysis. Offensive Tackle . Louisville. Mekhi Becton . 14. player. Scouting Report

After signing quarterback Tom Brady to a two-year, $50 million contract, one would assume that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are in win-now mode. Their offense looks poised for success, their defense is making strides and they only have a few glaring needs on their roster.

One of which is at offensive tackle, after they opted to not bring back veteran Demar Dotson in free agency. To solve this, I have them taking Louisville offensive tackle Mekhi Becton. At 6-foot-7, 369 pounds, Becton is one biggest and best movers in the 2020 NFL Draft. He uses his exceptionally big frame to wall off opponents and then violently finishes them off.

Wide Receiver . Alabama. Henry Ruggs III. player. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. 15 . 45

Going into Thursday’s draft, the Denver Broncos are rumored to be interested in trading up in the first round in order to take Jerry Jeudy. The feeling surrounding the Broncos this offseason is that they are bent on placing reliable pieces around their young quarterback in Drew Lock.

However, in the scenario, I have them taking Jeudy’s running mate in Henry Ruggs. While Ruggs’ speed is his what he’s most the most revered for, he displays some smooth route running and a surprising amount of physicality.

South Carolina. Javon Kinlaw . 32. Scouting Report. Defensive Tackle . 16 . player. Pick Analysis

After trading back with the Atlanta Falcons, the Arizona Cardinals miss out on selecting an offensive tackle but manage to take one the top defenders of the 2020 NFL Draft in Javon Kinlaw. In free agency, they managed to sign Jordan Phillips away from the Buffalo Bills in an attempt to fix their defensive line.

Phillips had a breakout season in 2019, but the Cardinals shouldn’t bet on him to repeat the same success. Kinlaw is a bit of a safer bet, showing more athleticism and power with the potential to be a consistently dominant player at the next level.
