After losing several big names in free agency this offseason, the Tennessee Titans make replacing them a priority in this 2020 NFL Draft seven-round mock.

Well Tennessee Titans fans, the time is almost here. After hosting the draft last year in Nashville, the 2020 NFL Draft is finally almost here. After an offseason of key returns but maybe even more impactful losses, general manager Jon Robinson, head coach Mike Vrabel and the rest of the Titans front office must turn to the draft to replace those impactful players that they lost in free agency.

The Cleveland Browns gave former All-Pro right tackle, Jack Conklin, a big payday in free agency this offseason. The Tennessee Titans traded perennial Pro Bowler and team captain, Jurrell Casey to the Denver Broncos in exchange for just a seventh-round pick, in what was clearly just a salary dump. Also, the Titans have yet to retain free agent Logan Ryan, who is undoubtedly one of the best slot cornerbacks in the league.

While the team did sign quarterback Ryan Tannehill to a big extension and spent their franchise tag on league-leading rusher Derrick Henry, these departures have left major voids on the Tennessee roster.

The Titans brought in players like Vic Beasley, Jack Crawford and Ty Sambrailo in free agency, but those guys aren’t near the level of the players that they lost, leaving them the remaining free agents and, more importantly, the 2020 NFL Draft prospects for them to round out their roster.

For a team that went to the AFC Championship Game last season, there are no shortages of needs to fill their roster. Filling the departures of guys like Conklin, Casey and presumably Ryan will be a priority. They could also get better at edge rusher, wide receiver, running back and bring in a back-up quarterback with starting potential in case Tannehill doesn’t pan out as they had hoped.

The Tennessee Titans own the following picks heading into the 2020 NFL Draft:

  • Round 1, Pick 29
  • Round 2, Pick 61
  • Round 3, Pick 93
  • Round 5, Pick 175
  • Round 7, 235
  • Round 7, 238
  • Round 7, 244

In this seven-round mock draft, the Tennessee Titans wheel-and-deal a bit to find the sweet spot for some players that I think fit in well and help fill those needs. If Robinson and the Titans are able to pull off a haul like this, I am confident that the team will be able to be legitimate contenders once again in the AFC.

This mock draft was completed using the NFL Mock Draft Database Mock Simulator, and all trades were “accepted”, per their simulator.
