Jedrick Wills Jr.. 11. Offensive Tackle. Alabama. player. 30. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis

Somehow Jedrick Wills Jr., who is widely considered the best tackle in the 2020 NFL Draft, is available at number 11 for the New York Jets. General Manager Joe Douglas was busy in free agency bringing in four new offensive linemen as well as retaining guard/tackle Alex Lewis. However, none of them will or should prevent him from taking a top tackle at eleven.

Wills played right tackle for the Crimson Tide, but he has the potential to man the left side of the New York Jets offensive line for the next decade. That would be music to Sam Darnold’s ears if the Jets select Wills Jr. at 11. Douglas revealed that he made a promise to Darnold’s parents that he would do everything in his power to put a line in front of their son that would protect him which is why this selection needs to be an offensive lineman.

Wide Receiver. Oklahoma. CeeDee Lamb. player. Pick Analysis. 12. 28. Scouting Report

The Las Vegas Raiders apparently are fine moving forward with Derek Carr, but they need more playmakers around him. The 2020 NFL Draft is filled with highly talented receivers, but CeeDee Lamb seems to be something special.

He doesn’t have the speed as some other prospects, but he’s very physical with solid hands and the ability to create after the catch. Slotting him in Gruden’s system with Josh Jacobs and a nice group of tight ends makes for an explosive and exciting offense.

Pick Analysis. Wide Receiver. 13. 42. Scouting Report. Alabama. Henry Ruggs III. player

The Niners acquired the 13th overall pick from the Colts after trading defensive lineman DeForest Buckner and now are in a position to select an explosive wide receiver. Henry Ruggs III could add yet another element to Kyle Shanahan’s offense next to Deebo Samuel.

This could be a defensive selection, but the thought of Ruggs with Shanahan is too good to pass up. San Francisco could sure up the back end of their defense later on in the 1st round, but for now, they give Jimmy Garoppolo a dynamic, speedy receiver.

Pick Analysis. Offensive Tackle. Louisville. Mekhi Becton. player. 48. Scouting Report. 14

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have a new quarterback in town after Tom Brady left the New England Patriots. That was a crazy sentence to write. Anyway, with Tampa now set at quarterback they can turn their attention to protecting him. Louisville offensive tackle Mekhi Becton is a very intriguing prospect that has climbed up draft boards the last few months.

Becton has very nice athleticism for a man his size (6-foot-7 and 368 pounds) and has the obvious strength that comes with it. There are a lot of moments on tape where he manhandles other big human beings and it’s very impressive and fun to watch. However, he can slip up on assignments which cannot happen when blocking for a 42-year-old Tom Brady. The good news is that proper coaching Becton could be a very dominant starting left tackle in the NFL.

Wide Receiver. player. 45. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Alabama. Jerry Jeudy. 15

The Denver Broncos have been in the news a lot these last couple of weeks and it seems like they have been trying to trade up in the 2020 NFL Draft. However, in this mock draft there wasn’t a deal that made much sense.

Instead they stayed where they were and landed a top-notch wide receiver that not many expected to be there. Jerry Jeudy ended the 2019 season as the top wide receiver prospect, but as the process moved along Oklahoma receiver DeeDee Lamb past him for that title.

Jeudy does have more drops on tape than some may like, but he has the ability to be a dynamic playmaker for the Denver Broncos. His route running and ability to create separation is next-level stuff. He should make for a nice duo next to Courtland Sutton.
