player. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Cornerback. Iowa. Michael Ojemudia. 5. 58

Michael Ojemudia is proof that this draft is not only deep at cornerback but is going to have some sleepers on day three. I’ve said it before, Ojemudia is not a day one starter but does show great potential. He needs to be put in a zone scheme which makes Washington a great fit schematically. He shows solid tackling technique and works downhill very well. He shows the ability to read plays that directly correlates to his anticipation of throws.

Ojemudia struggles in man coverage due to poor foot speed and acceleration. Therefore he is a scheme dependent prospect that should be available in the fourth or fifth round, right in time for the Washington Redskins to swoop him up.

player. Linebacker. Markus Bailey. 7a. Purdue. 58. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis

Markus Bailey is an impressive prospect on the football field. However, with his injury concerns and the lack of physicals or medical checks before the draft, Bailey could begin to slide. Although I believe that pick 216 is much too low for Bailey, he could be a player with too much risk for other teams to bite on due to the injury.

If Bailey falls, the Washington Redskins will receive a highly intelligent prospect who is a workhorse. He isn’t known for his speed or ability to move laterally but he is a high motor prospect that is a great tackler, shoots gaps well, and can work in a shallow zone. Covering tight ends and running backs in the league could be a challenge but I expect him to fit in the linebacking corps as a first and second down backer for the Washington Redskins by 2021.

Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. TE. Arkansas. 58. Cheyenne O'Grady. 7b. player

Another player I have talked about in past posts, Cheyenne O’Grady, has the talent to be drafted much earlier than pick 229. However, he continued to go down a road of self-destruction in college where he had multiple suspensions and was ultimately dismissed from Arkansas last season. The ability is there but there are questions if he truly wants to play football and of his love for the game.

Outside of his suspensions and off-field problems, O’Grady is a pass-catching tight end that is great at shedding tacklers. He is not the best blocker but could get the job done. His main usage would be as a receiving tight end which has proven to be extremely important in Scott Turner’s past offenses. He is worth the risk, as the potential reward is that of a late day two pick not day three.

In this mock, the Washington Redskins addressed many of the team’s needs including safety, linebacker, cornerback, guard, receiver and tight end. Overall, this would be a successful draft as they addressed those team needs and bolstered an already potent defensive line.
