Round 1

Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. EDGE. LSU. 17. 123. K’Lavon Chaisson. player

Jerry Jones and the Dallas Cowboys front office know they can never have too many pass rushers. After losing Robert Quinn to the Bears in the offseason, the Cowboys make a much needed addition to the right defensive end position.

Chaisson is a fierce edge defender who brings some swagger with him to the Dallas Cowboys. I think he fits in perfectly with what the front office did to the defensive line this offseason. Add him to the likes of Gerald McCoy, Dontari Poe, and former pro bowl EDGE Demarcus Lawrence and this makes for one scary unit for opposing offenses.

Chaisson is more than just a pressure player,  as he can also cause fits in the run game. Chaisson does a great job of using his leverage against bigger tackles. He comes to the Dallas Cowboys as a team captain and a National Champion. Chaisson has a very high ceiling but its important to surround him with a coaching staff that will develop him into one of the leagues elite edge players.

The value of the pick worked out to the Cowboys’ advantage with their needs. At this point in the draft, the value at cornerback wasn’t nearly strong enough to consider, so I decided to add Chaisson to the already scary Dallas Cowboys defensive line.
