Mike McCarthy leads a new regime with the Dallas Cowboys and makes his mark on the franchise with this seven-round 2020 NFL mock draft.

The Dallas Cowboys changed the man in charge of their football team this offseason by introducing Mike McCarthy as their head coach. There have been major changes in personnel, as well as to the organizational structure. They moved on from their previous staff, changing schemes on defense while implementing McCarthy’s touch to Kellen Moore’s offense.

The Dallas Cowboys had some personnel changes within the past couple of weeks. In free agency the team lost Byron Jones to the Dolphins, Robert Quinn to the Bears, as well as Jeff Heath, Maliek Collins and Jason Witten to the Raiders.

While the Cowboys have lost some key players to their football team, They did manage to fill some key holes this offseason. Among those fill-ins are strong safety Ha Ha Clinton-Dix from the Bears and defensive tackles Gerald McCoy and Dontari Poe from the Carolina Panthers. They also retained Dak Prescott on the franchise tag and signed pro bowl receiver Amari Cooper to a long-term deal.

As the Dallas Cowboys approach the draft, they have done a good job replacing some starters but there are still some holes to fill. These needs are cornerback, safety, wide receiver, center and pass rusher. The Cowboys have seven picks to add some talent to this team in a loaded 2020 NFL draft class. In this mock draft, I try to draft the best player available while still assessing the needs of this roster.

The way this mock draft worked out, I had extreme luck that the best player available was almost always a Dallas Cowboys need.
