Trade to No. 3 for Jedrick Wills Jr.

The Lions are in a prime position to trade back and gather some more draft capital to improve their team. The Los Angeles Chargers are in need of a top offensive tackle, and trading with the Lions could help them get in front of the New York Giants, who also need an offensive tackle.

Trading from six to three shouldn’t be too expensive, and it will help the Chargers fill a need with a plug-and-play starter. Getting the three would give the Chargers their choice of offensive tackle in round one.

With Jedrick Wills, Andrew Thomas, Tristan Wirfs and Mekhi Becton sitting on the board, the Chargers are faced with a difficult decision. However, it’s a decision that needs to be made. If the decision comes down to this, the best move for the Chargers would be to select Jedrick Wills.

Wills is the top offensive tackle on my board and is deserving of that slot. He is a mobile offensive tackle, who plays with a mean streak. With quick feet and good lateral mobility, Wills is great in pass protection as he can mirror just about any pass rusher. In the run game, Wills is a force to be reckoned with. He isn’t afraid to hit, and he’ll finish anyone he can. He moves swiftly to the second level and will swallow linebackers that try to confront him.

In this scenario, with the third pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, the Los Angeles Chargers select Jedrick Wills, offensive tackle, Alabama.
