Here are my 2020 NFL Draft running back rankings and analysis featuring 30 of the top prospects at the position. These rankings feature guys like D’Andre Swift and Eno Benjamin lower than expected with a couple sleepers towards the top.

The 2020 NFL Draft is nearly upon us! April 23 is creeping up mighty fast. Even though this 2020 NFL Draft won’t be very similar to those of years past, it is still an exciting event to look forward to for NFL fans around the globe, regardless of the situation.

Teams are surely vetting as many prospects as they can, trying to get accurate medical reports and putting their IT guys to work to ensure that everyone has a smooth “virtual draft” experience.

Additionally, with the extra steps that it may take to fully get in contact with another team during the draft, front offices are likely already discussing possible trade scenarios so if said scenario arises, they already have parameters in place and can quickly pull the trigger.

This virtual 2020 NFL Draft should certainly be a sight to see and it will be interesting how the current pandemic has an effect on the draft process itself, or on the fallout down the road. Will teams avoid players with questionable medical reports? Will a team take a chance and get bitten with bad news in the coming weeks or months? Only time will tell.

We can only hope that making the 2020 NFL Draft and the beginning of the offseason programs digital will be the only way that this virus affects the NFL. Come August and September, it would be lovely to be back to normal. And normal is football.

One thing about the draft that is always interesting to look at is where the running backs will come off the board. Will a team fall in love and snag their guy in the first round? Who may be drafted in the later rounds that could have as big of an impact as that possible first rounder?

There are always so many questions to speculate about around draft day, especially at the running back position. Teams have been finding those guys in the later rounds that contribute greatly to their organization very early in there career. On the other hand, some highly drafted running backs have been seeking very hefty pay days with their new contracts, and those haven’t exactly panned out too well so far.

How will this trend affect the 2020 NFL Draft class of running backs. Most people believe that there are running backs in this draft that are talented enough to go in the first round, but most mock drafts only feature one or two first-round backs, max.

I certainly can’t tell you where and when these players will come off the board on draft day, but after hours of film study on these 30 running backs, I can tell you who I like, who I dislike and why.
