Pick Analysis. James Madison. John Daka. 35. 5. player. College Roster Profile. Outside Linebacker

Playing at the FCS level, James Madison’s John Daka has not gotten the recognition that he deserves for his incredible production and dominance over the past two seasons. Daka is one of the most underrated pass rushers in the 2020 NFL Draft and could fit well in the 3-4 defense of the Tennessee Titans.

After almost leaving the game following his sophomore season due to some undisclosed, off-the-field things that went on in his life, Daka came back with a vengeance.

There isn’t a ton of James Madison tape available to watch John Daka do his thing, but from what I saw I can see how he filled the stat sheet the way he did once he got the opportunity to start in 2018.

Daka set a school record at James Madison with 27.5 career sacks, all but one coming in his last two seasons at the school. In 2019, Daka had a whopping 28 tackles for loss, adding 67 total tackles, three pass deflections, four forced fumbles and a blocked kick.

Daka displayed a lot of valuable pass rush traits, even in the short amount of film I was able to watch. He is a very slippery rusher who has the speed and bend to win on the edge. He is a cerebral player who has good vision and feel for how he can best beat his blocker.

With Vic Beasley and Harold Landry slated to be the starting edge rushers for the Tennessee Titans, Daka could come in as a late-round pick and be given the time to learn and develop from NFL level coaching. He has the tools and the upside to be molded into a great 3-4 outside linebacker at the next level, and would be a move for the future for the Titans in the 2020 NFL Draft.
