Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Wide Receiver. Liberty. Antonio Gandy-Golden. player. 1. 35

As I have said many times before, Antonio Gandy-Golden is one of my favorite players in the 2020 NFL Draft, and he would be a great fit for the Tennessee Titans.

While the Titans have plenty of other needs that can be addressed, likely earlier than they would need to take Gandy-Golden, adding a big, playmaking target on the outside is never a bad thing. That is Gandy-Golden, and he would certainly be a welcomed sight for quarterback Ryan Tannehill.

After signing Tannehill to a big contract extension, it is clear that this front office is putting themselves on the line and saying that he gives them the best chance to win. The next step in their process? Providing him with all the tools possible to go out and prove that.

What quarterback wouldn’t love a 6-foot-4, 223-pound target with the strength and speed to get open and the hands and catch radius to grab nearly anything that is thrown his way? AGG may have played against lower-level competition at Liberty, but he showed that he is a legitimate wide receiver who can succeed in the NFL.

He has a good release off the line of scrimmage, allowing him to get the space he needs to shield off the defender with his big body and to go up and make a play. He is a weapon deep down the field and is tough to bring down once he comes down with the ball.

Gandy-Golden should be a real force in the red zone at the next level with his frame, strength and ball skills. Delanie Walker was another offseason departure for the Tennessee Titans, leaving them without one of their stronger red-zone targets.

A.J. Brown was an absolute slam dunk of a pick last year, and Gandy-Golden could be that guy in the 2020 NFL Draft. Corey Davis, who has not been close to a slam dunk after being drafted fifth overall in 2017, has failed to live up to expectations, and this wide receiver class is the deepest in years.

Gandy-Golden and his style of play would complement that of Brown and Adam Humphries. Brown is a very talented route runner who can take the top off of the defense, Humphries is a shifty slot receiver with reliable hands over the middle, and AGG can be the big-body, red-zone target who is effective at all levels of the field with his size and ability.

Antonio Gandy-Golden would make Ryan Tannehill, and the Tennessee Titans front office, look even better than they have been. Adding another weapon on the outside will make this powerful Titan offense even more dynamic and could help lead them to more success in 2020.
