Miami Dolphins 7-Round 2020 Mock Draft: Trading up from 18
Let’s load up on offense here late in the 2020 NFL Draft for the Miami Dolphins. While Mike Gesicki is already a big part of the offense as a receiving tight end, Stephen Sullivan will put a strain on defenses, forcing them to pay attention to both in the red zone. Sullivan is a competitive blocker who didn’t get many opportunities at LSU, but he’s a solid route runner who can make an impact.
More offensive line help? You betcha! The Miami Dolphins aren’t settling despite drafting four offensive linemen already. Justin Herron is a smart player who picks up on stunts really well. He might not have the athleticism and quickness to play tackle, but he could fit in just fine at guard. Herron can get a chance to work at both spots in camp and during his development.
Finding more edge help is the plan late in the draft as well. Oluwole Betiku Jr. has a great motor and good hand usage to work in as a rusher on passing downs. His nine sacks and 13 tackles for loss with the Illini in his final season show the potential.
The final pick in this Miami Dolphins mock draft helps the defensive interior. Christian Wilkins is on his way to being a centerpiece for that defense, and adding a space eater next to him would work out well. John Penisini has plenty of raw power to eat double teams and reset the line of scrimmage.
