Miami Dolphins 7-Round 2020 Mock Draft: Trading up from 18
The Miami Dolphins shouldn’t stop the offensive line rebuild after the first round. Yes, Thomas and Ruiz is an excellent start, but adding more names into the fold makes a ton of sense. Washington tackle Trey Adams was hyped as a first round pick the past couple of seasons, but injuries have really hurt him, not to mention a rough combine performance. Still, Adams is dominant at the point of attack and can hold his own in pass protection.
Versatility is the name of the game, and having a depth player along the offensive line who can play multiple spots is important in a long season where injuries happen. Kyle Murphy isn’t talked about much, but he brings the ability to play center or guard, and could develop into a starter down the road.
Last on the list in round five is Utah safety Julian Blackmon. Blackmon started his Utah career out playing corner, but eventually moved to safety, a more comfortable position for him. He will work best playing near the line of scrimmage in the box, where he can fly downhill and make plays. Blackmon also can work at the nickel position at times, and once again, versatility prevails here later in the draft.
