It’s likely that the Miami Dolphins are out of range from getting a top four tackle in the 2020 NFL Draft, especially if they go quarterback at five. It’s going to require a trade up to get one, and in this scenario, they do just that.

It didn’t take too much for the Miami Dolphins to move up, and the Las Vegas Raiders are the partner. Miami sends 18 and 56 in this draft for 12 and 121, a good move for both sides. The Raiders pick up a second rounder and the Dolphins move up for their guy.

59. Pick Analysis. Andrew Thomas. 1. player. Scouting Report. Offensive Tackle. Georgia

Here it is! A move up that many aren’t predicting, but maybe should be. Andrew Thomas hasn’t gotten the love lately in the tackle class, and it’s hard to figure out why. Everyone was obsessing over the combine performances of Tristan Wirfs and Mekhi Becton, but Thomas did very well too, posting an elite RAS.

As far as a prospect goes, Thomas is as good as it gets. He is so refined in pass protection, with calculated pass sets and a strong initial strike, along with good grip strength. He’s a mauler in the running game, and can move defenders off their spot with ease. The main concern with Thomas is how he handles speed rushers, but his work against K’Lavon Chaisson in the SEC Championship was a clinic.

player. Scouting Report. Offensive Line. Michigan. Cesar Ruiz. Pick Analysis. 1. 59

Finishing out the first round for the Dolphins is the top interior offensive lineman in the 2020 NFL Draft. Cesar Ruiz is getting first round buzz and for good reason. Ruiz can come in and be the Dolphins center from day one. His power and mobility are a great combo, and once again, the focus of building a strong offensive line to protect Tagovailoa is key.
