Los Angeles Rams 7-round 2020 NFL mock draft: Pass rush priorities
Even with the selection of Terrell Lewis, I think the Los Angeles Rams would be wise to add some more edge help in the mid-rounds as well. The need is so notable, and with the injury history of Lewis taken into account, doubling up at the position could make a lot of sense.
So, with the 104th overall pick, the Rams snag a highly productive player out of Michigan State, Kenney Willekes. A former walk-on with the Spartans, Willekes brings that underdog mentality to the football field with an endless motor and toughness that you can’t teach.
In his lengthy collegiate career, Willekes tallied 23.5 sacks and a whopping 49 tackles for a loss. In terms of pass-rushing moves, it’s clear he loves to use speed-to-power and can be very effective with the long arm. His flexibility is another big-time strength for a potential 3-4 edge and he made sure to let teams know of that attribute in a workout video that has since gone viral on Twitter.
Coming away from the 2020 NFL Draft with a combination like Lewis and Willekes could provide an immediate spark at a huge position of need for the Los Angeles Rams.
