Los Angeles Rams 7-round 2020 NFL mock draft: Pass rush priorities
Even without a first-round pick, the Los Angeles Rams can still come away with some major talent in the 2020 NFL Draft. This seven-round mock draft proves that.
We are just days away from the virtual festivities at the 2020 NFL Draft. While most teams are preparing to send in their first picks on Day 1, the Los Angeles Rams are one of just six teams that won’t be on the clock until Day 2 (barring a trade). Luckily for Rams fans, they did recently make a trade to land another top-60 pick to soften the sting of not picking until 52nd overall.
At the beginning of the month, the Los Angeles Rams traded away Brandin Cooks to the Houston Texans for the 57th overall selection. This move was huge for the Rams, who have run through their draft capital with various trades in recent years. Landing another second-rounder puts LA in a good position to snag two instant contributors, or maybe even use those picks to trade up if a player they like slides a bit.
As things stand right now, the Los Angeles Rams have seven total selections in the 2020 NFL Draft and only four in the 2021 draft. This isn’t an ideal outlook for the future but they can cover a world of hurt if they can nail this draft class.
While I am sure the Rams will contemplate trading their 52nd and 57th overall picks to move up into the top of the second round, I don’t think giving away any more draft assets would be wise. This is a deep draft class so there should be some big-time talent still on the board in the 50s and the team has too many needs to lose more picks to fill just one.
So, with that in mind, I have put together a trade-free seven-round Los Angeles Rams mock draft that focuses on taking advantage of deep positional units that just so happen to fill some major holes in LA.
