San Francisco 49ers 7-Round 2020 NFL mock draft: Offensive line help
Offensive tackle is one of the biggest strengths of the San Francisco 49ers right now, so why add one late in the draft? Left tackle Joe Staley is 35-years-old, and finding a developmental tackle who can take over in a couple of seasons is always a good idea. Terence Steele has some intriguing upside and has some traits worth banking on late in the draft.
Double dipping on the interior? Absolutely. After adding Damien Lewis, the Niners opt for another lineman. Danny Pinter put together a great performance at the NFL Scouting Combine. He put together an elite speed grade, a great explosion grade, and a good agility grade. He’s a mobile ball of clay worth developing, and he could end up being a starter someday.
The 49ers secondary is still intact at safety after John Lynch brought back Jimmie Ward for three more seasons. Ward and Jaquiski Tartt are a fine duo, but bringing in more help makes sense. Jalen Elliott is another prospect who played at the Senior Bowl. Although he’s primarily a safety, he got some reps at corner as well. His versatility could be important for a secondary still looking for help at the nickel spot.
