Willie Gay Jr.. 2. Scouting Report. Linebacker. Mississippi State. player. 124. Pick Analysis

One of the most important positions to find for the Kansas City Chiefs in the 2020 NFL Draft is the linebacker position. Guys like Reggie Ragland and Anthony Hitchens filled in well at times last season, but finding a difference-maker, one who can be a big upgrade, is important.

Willie Gay Jr. can be that upgrade. Gay tested extremely well at the scouting combine, and when everyone got back to the tape, he moved up boards big time. He’s got the athleticism, quickness, and range to be an every-down player, and he flies downhill and is a violent finisher. Gay will have to answer some off the field questions, but if that’s cleared, he’s well worth it in round two.

Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Interior Offensive Line. Louisiana. Robert Hunt. player. 3. 124

Next on the list of importance is the offensive line, more specifically on the interior. For someone who moves around and buys time like Patrick Mahomes, good pass protectors will be important. Robert Hunt is a powerful offensive lineman. While he played tackle at Louisiana, it’s likely he moves inside. He’s dominant at the point of attack, his anchor is strong, and he is a great finisher. Hunt could make a big impact on day one for the Chiefs, especially in pass protection.
