The wide receiver group of the 2020 NFL Draft is shaping up to be historic. The class is one of the deepest in recent memory, that includes many great players such as CeeDee Lamb, Jerry Jeudy, Henry Ruggs, and Justin Jefferson. However, with a class as deep as this one is, there are bound to be guys who will fall through cracks. While players such as UCF’s Gabe Davis are examples of such an effect, Oregon State wide receiver Isaiah Hodgins is who will be highlighted today.

Standing at 6-foot-4 while weighing in at 210 pounds, Hodgins possesses a lot of traits that make him such an intriguing prospect. Hodgins is a surprisingly smooth route runner for his size, getting some good thrust through his breaks. He possesses an excellent catch radius, as his lanky frame allows him to catch nearly everything around him and above the rim. While you wouldn’t ask him to stretch the field, Hodgins can find a home working over the middle and in the red zone.

Aside from being apart of a historically good wide receiver class, and his struggles with vertical separation, Hodgins played at school not particularly known for churning out NFL talent at a consistent rate despite being a Power 5 university in the PAC-12. So oftentimes, places like Oregon State get forgotten themselves compared to the other schools around them.
