The New York Giants, with new head coach Joe Judge, address their big needs on both sides of the ball in this seven-round NFL mock draft.

The New York Giants added a few players in free agency last month and that could indicate what they are planning to do in the 2020 NFL Draft. However, with the combination of a new head coach in Joe Judge and general manager Dave Gettleman, nobody knows if they stick with Gettleman’s tendencies. The Giants ended 2019 with four wins but with the new coaching staff, a good draft will better the outlook for this coming season.

Coming up in less than two weeks, the draft is upon us and uncertainty is looming (especially with the COVID-19 pandemic going on). The Giants hold 10 selections in this year’s draft and close out the last round with four picks in the seventh round (including Mr.Irrelevant with the last pick of the draft). Despite adding some free agents, most of them are going to be insurance to future draft picks or are solid backups.

Some of those free agents including quarterback Colt McCoy, running back Dion Lewis, offensive tackle Cameron Fleming, interior defensive lineman Austin Johnson, edge rusher Kyler Fackrell, and cornerback James Bradberry. They also brought in inside linebackers Blake Martinez and David Mayo while signing tight ends Levine Toilolo and Eric Tomlinson. The Giants still have around $16 million in the salary cap and I would not rule out a late attempt at signing defensive end, Jadeveon Clowney.

Their top needs include center, right tackle, edge rusher, inside linebacker, and safety. For depth, they still could use a quarterback, running back, wide receiver, tight end, and cornerback. I could see them trading up for a player they want on days two and three with all their late-round selections but for now, this is a seven-round mock draft I did on The Draft Network simulator.
