2020 NFL Draft: Four teams find franchise QB in two-round NFL mock draft
The Dallas Cowboys defensive line ranges from 27-32 years old, which means most of the players are currently in their prime right now. Adding depth at defensive end is key for the Cowboys with Chaisson still on the board at No. 17 overall and adding a guy like Chaisson who provides long-term vaule is ideal.
Chaisson could compete with veterans Tyrone Crawford and Aldon Smith next season for the starting gig on the right side of the defensive line. The left side of the line is already set with Demarcus Lawrence who has been one of the best in the league. A combo of Chaisson and Lawerence would be an exciting duo to watch on that Cowboys defense.
Biggest Needs: CB, Edge, WR
I thought that the Dolphins might take phone calls for this spot and move down a couple and still land an offensive tackle. They decide to stay put and take Josh Jones who can come in and start day one and provide protection for Justin Herbert who they took earlier in round one.
Currently, the Dolphins roster consists of tackles Julie’n Davenport, Adam Pankey and Jesse Davis. Davenport and Pankey are new additions this offseason and Davis has spend all of his three seasons with the team. All of their offensive line is filled with younger players and has the capability of growing and becoming a stronger unit with some added prospects in the 2020 NFL Draft.
Biggest Needs: QB, OL, S
This is the second pick in the first round for the Las Vegas Raiders and after finding a top receiver for Derek Carr, they now will focus on the defensive side of the ball. Cornerback is a strong need for the Raiders and I tossed the idea around of C.J. Henderson, Trevon Diggs or Kristian Fulton being the pick for the Raiders.
Ultimately, I chose Henderson because I believe he is the best corner outside of Okudah. The Raiders took two defensive backs in the 2019 NFL Draft and adding Henderson here will give them a young core of secondary players.
Bringing in Henderson not only helps a team on defense who gave up a lot of points last season but it also challenges the other young corners on the team.
Biggest Needs: WR, CB, OL
This is also the second pick for the Jaguars and they stick to defense with both of their picks. After trading Jalen Ramsey to the Los Angles Rams and A.J. Bouye to the Denver Broncos, cornerback is an obvious need for the team here.
Trading away your top two cornerbacks and then also shipping out defensive lineman Calais Campbell to Baltimore shows this team is committed to rebuilding. So the Jags start the rebuild process with the additions of Kinlaw and Diggs here in the first round.
Diggs had 37 tackles, two fumble recoveries and three interceptions last season for the Crimson Tide.
