58. Pick Analysis. Joe Burrow. 1. LSU. player. Scouting Report. QB

If the rumors are true that Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals may not have mutual feelings about one another then here is a possibility. First let me say, I think that this is the league over-analyzing the process but if it is true the Bengals are not going to want to drop far in the 2020 NFL Draft and have shown interest in Chase Young. This would mean they would need to trade down with someone in the top two or three to solidify Young.

In this scenario, the Redskins would trade up to the first pick from the second pick. They would also have to include their third-round pick (66) and a 2021 second-round pick. On the trade chart, this would equate to approximately a 150 point gain for the Bengals. This is on the low end of a first-round trade including a quarterback but they would be assured their target, Young would be there.

Burrow was nothing short of spectacular this season at LSU. He had a touchdown to interception ratio of 60:6 and a completion percentage of 76.3%. He could fit into almost any system in the NFL but the fit in Washington could be special with the addition of a young receiver and tight end in the 2020 NFL Draft.

The vertical Air Coryell system they plan to use in Washington would work to Burrow’s strengths as he is exceptional at working the deep and middle portions of the field. His arm strength could be his only weakness heading into the NFL and could affect him throwing to the sides of the field, which is a much smaller portion of Scott Turner’s offense.

Again I am not a believer in the Bengals not taking Burrow but Washington has to turn every stone and this could be a game-changer for the Washington Redskins.
