2020 NFL Draft: Four Green Bay Packers trade-up targets
KJ Hamler, WR, Penn State
Even if the Green Bay Packers go receiver with their first-round selection, I wouldn’t be shocked at all if they double-up and land another one in the second. The talent available at the position in the 2020 NFL Draft is very rare, so taking advantage of the deep class could turn one of the team’s biggest weaknesses into a strength quickly.
One target that I would love in the Green Bay offense is former Penn State Nittany Lion, KJ Hamler.
While he is limited to slot duties at the next level, Hamler is a burner with ankle-breaking stuff after the catch. His quickness is his greatest attribute and when the ball is in his hands, he can make defenders look downright silly.
In the last two seasons with Penn State, Hamler tallied nearly 1,700 yards receiving with 13 touchdowns and also showed dangerous ability in the return game as well. He is a true home-run threat anytime he touches the football and would provide playmaking ability that the Packers so desperately need.
Adding Hamler to Matt LaFleur’s offense just seems like such a perfect fit, as he would give them an immediate spark that they could use in so many different ways.
Trading up from No. 62 overall would make a lot of sense if Hamler is on the board into the 40s.
