2020 NFL Draft: Four-Round 2020 NFL mock draft with exciting trades
The Philadelphia Eagles consistently struggled to stop opposing passing attacks in 2019. While they have worked to improve their cornerback situation already this offseason, they could still make a significant addition at the position in the 2020 NFL Draft if the right opportunity presented itself.
Cameron Dantzler is a long and athletic cornerback who has a ton of natural upside in man-to-man coverage. Dantzler must become more physical in coverage, but it is easy to see him having immediate success in the NFL.
I do not know if A.J. Epenesa will really fall this far, but after his ugly athletic testing at the combine, I would not rule it out. That being said, Epenesa was still an extremely productive college player whose impressive on-field awareness and power should translate well to the next level.
Buffalo Bills head coach Sean McDermott has had a lot of success with power-based players at the defensive end position and Epenesa certainly fits the bill. He is undoubtedly a player who will appeal to McDermott and defensive end is also a major position of need for this team.
Terrell Lewis was a consistent playmaker in college when he was on the field. He shows a quick first step and was always able to get impressive upfield burst. Lewis’ impact did not always show up on the stat sheet, but he seemed to live in the backfield in college.
Injuries and durability are major concerns with this player, but Lewis is undoubtedly an impact edge defender who has nice upside at the next level. If he can just stay healthy, this pick would likely pay off in a big way for the Baltimore Ravens.
The Jacksonville Jaguars should not be overly committed to Leonard Fournette and here, they have an opportunity to replace him. Clyde Edwards-Helaire is an extremely quick and shifty back who works through traffic in the middle of the field well. He shows great ball carrier vision and has enough foot speed to consistently get to his spots. Edwards-Helaire also shows impressive pad level when finishing and has great natural contact balance.
While he can undoubtedly make an impact as a runner, Edwards-Helaire is perhaps an even bigger weapon as a receiver out of the backfield. At LSU, Edwards-Helaire showed a knack for creating space as a route runner. He also has soft hands and is an impressive playmaker after the catch. CEH is an impressive overall running back who fits the modern NFL extremely well. The Jaguars find themselves a fantastic offensive weapon here in the second round.
