2020 NFL Draft: Four-Round 2020 NFL mock draft with exciting trades
The Browns addressed their biggest need in the first round of this mock. Here, they take care of another major need, adding safety Antoine Winfield Jr. to the mix. Winfield is an aggressive playmaker at the safety position who shows a ton of ability in all aspects of the position. He is an extremely physical in-the-box safety who works through traffic well. He also shows impressive range and ball skills on the back-end and shines in man-to-man coverage.
Simply put, Winfield is a tremendous natural playmaker at the safety position who could come in and make an immediate impact for the Browns. Standing him at No. 41 is an ideal scenario for this team.
The Jaguars continue to load up their defense in this 2020 NFL Draft scenario, bringing interior defensive lineman Justin Madubuike into the mix here at pick No. 42. Madubuike shows an explosive first step and impressive upfield burst.
He is a menace in the middle of the defensive line, showing the ability to consistently create some pressure as an interior pass rusher. Madubuike is not much of a two-gap asset, but he certainly has plenty of upside as a one-gap penetrator at the next level.
With their first pick of this mock draft, the Chicago Bears swing for the fences. Grant Delpit may be the most purely gifted safety prospect in the 2020 NFL Draft class. He was an inconsistent tackler last season and did not always put in the greatest effort, but it is impossible to ignore Delpit’s big-time athleticism and massive upside at the safety position. Pairing Delpit with Eddie Jackson would give the Bears an incredibly exciting duo at safety.
Tee Higgins fell a bit further than expected in this mock draft, but the depth at the wide receiver could cause this to happen. Higgins is a big and physical target who has a wide catch radius and shows impressive concentration in contested-catch situations. He will struggle to separate at the next level, but Higgins undoubtedly has impressive upside as a jump-ball target.
