12. player. Pick Analysis. Alabama. 28. Scouting Report. WR. Henry Ruggs III

The 2020 NFL Draft class is absolutely loaded with talent at the wide receiver position, but the incredible depth of the class could push the premier players down the board a bit. The top three receivers in this class (Henry Ruggs III, CeeDee Lamb and Jerry Jeudy) are all worthy of top 10 selections, but teams could easily look to fill a need at another position and snag a different talented receiver later.

In this mock draft, the first wide receiver does not come off of the board until No. 12 when Ruggs lands with the Las Vegas Raiders. This is a pick that Al Davis would be proud of.

Ruggs is the single fastest player in the 2020 NFL Draft class. He is quick in short spaces, has legitimate deep speed and is naturally elusive in the open field. Ruggs is the kind of guy who can take the top off of the defense on one play and take a short pass to the house on the next. He is a tremendous natural playmaker at the wide receiver position who has massive upside at the next level.

As explosive and athletic as Ruggs is, he is not just a one-trick pony who can only win with speed. Ruggs is also a sharp and precise route-runner who shows soft hands and a natural ability to make plays with the ball in his hands. Ruggs is a star in the making at the wide receiver position and would undoubtedly be a welcomed addition to the Raiders’ offense.
