Pick Analysis. Kenneth Murray . 28. Scouting Report. Linebacker. Oklahoma. player. 26

This is the most likely scenario for the Baltimore Ravens at the 28th overall pick. After the departure of C.J. Mosely, Baltimore coasted through the 2019 season with Patrick Onwuasor, Josh Bynes and L.J Fort at inside linebacker. And while that three-man rotation held their own throughout the season, the drop off in play at the position was noticeable.

In free agency, the Baltimore Ravens made little moves to improve the depth at the position outside re-signing Fort to a two-year deal. Behind Fort, they are rostering 2019 UDFA Otaro Alaka and 2018 UDFA Chris Board, a prominent special teams contributor.

Kenneth Murray, on the other hand, is a prototypical NFL middle linebacker, showing great range and an ability to play the run exceptionally well.  While he’s not quite as quick and nimble in the short area, he makes up for it with top-notch instincts that allow him to flow well to the ball. Murray plays hard and could be a fixture for a long time in Don Martindale’s defense.

General Manager Eric DeCosta spoke highly of Murray during a press conference on Thursday, saying that he expects him to be a top 40 pick. Given the Baltimore Ravens’ recent history of drafting Oklahoma players, the selection of Murray is a high probability. However there are teams ahead of Baltimore who are also in need such as the Oakland Raiders, Jacksonville Jaguars and potentially the New Orleans Saints, they may need to trade up for him.
