The Vikings don’t necessarily have to panic with replacing Stefon Diggs, but getting a player like Denzel Mims with the 25th overall pick might bee too enticing to pass up on.

Mims could be the ideal fit for the Gary Kubiak offense not only for his pass catching abilities, but because he might just be the best run blocking wide receiver in the class.

That’s always been important to Kubiak and having strong blocking receivers helped him and the Denver Broncos win Super Bowl 50 more than anyone probably realizes.

Adding Mims on the outside with Adam Thielen able to keep his role primarily playing out of the slot would give the Vikings a strong pair of receivers again, even if this pick would leave a void at the cornerback position to the second round.

This draft class has solid depth at both receiver and corner, so the Vikings might have to weigh which round they can get the most truly impactful year one player. I think Mims in round one is more impactful than perhaps a Jeff Gladney at the cornerback position with this selection.
