One-and-Done NBA-style first-round 2020 NFL mock draft

After the sudden retirement of Andrew Luck before the 2019 season, the Colts finishing the season at 7-9 may have been an surprise. However, after finishing the season 2-7 despite a strong start, the Colts may reconsider the long-term options at the quarterback position.
Jacoby Brissett has played well when he has essentially been the starter for two of the last three seasons, but the Colts have missed the postseason both years he has started despite making the playoff with Luck in 2018 and boasting one the best offensive lines. With both their first-round pick back and Herbert on the board in this scenario, the Colts cannot pass up this solution for the quarterback position.
The Buccaneers had one of the NFL’s better defenses last season and with the addition of Tom Brady and his influence in team decisions, the Bucs use their first-round pick to address Brady’s new line.
With Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, Cameron Brate and O.J. Howard, the Bucs have the targets Brady has missed in New England. The Buccaneers have a strong interior line but need help at both tackle positions. With Donovan Smith eating $14.5 million over each of the next two seasons and no established starter on the right side, the Buccaneers select the best right tackle on the board.
While Ja’Marr Chase is ineligible for the 2020 NFL Draft, the star receiver brought in the Biletnikoff Trophy as college football’s top receiver along with LSU’s national title. Chase was Burrow’s top target last season leading all of college football in yards (1,780), yards per reception (21.2) and touchdowns (20). With strong-armed Drew Lock as the starting quarterback, Elway will add a top tier playmaker to line up opposite of Courtland Sutton.
Patrick Surtain II, son of the three-time Pro Bowler and All-Pro, forced his way into Alabama’s elite secondary as a true freshman and contributed with two turnovers. As a sophomore, Surtain II accounted for three more turnovers and finished the season as a starter. Surtain II is less developed than teammate Trevon Diggs and other 2020 eligible corners but has the size, athleticism and talent to become an top-end caliber defender.
