First-Round 2020 NFL mock draft: “If I were the GM”
By Ian Higgins
After months of scouting and team fit analysis, this 2020 NFL mock draft is going to be based upon my personal opinion and the best fit for each given team.
Entering the final stages of preparation for the 2020 NFL Draft, the top orders have been generally agreed upon and the quality of players has been scouted out and established from their college tapes. Prospects have had their chances to rise up draft boards with showings at the senior bowl, NFL combine, as well as their individual pro days.
Stars such as Henry Ruggs III and Kyle Dugger have made their names more well known through the combine, and more established prospects were able to show their ability and lock themselves into the top-end of the draft with impressive showings at both the senior bowl and their pro days.
The 2020 NFL free agency period has settled with most of the biggest names finding homes for the next season. With these players finding homes, depth charts have become more clear and team needs entering the draft have become more apparent.
Although the flurry of signings has ended, stars such as Cam Newton, Jadeveon Clowney, and Jameis Winston are still waiting for their opportunity on the open market. Their value has fallen from their past seasons or current demands but still hold value as starting-caliber players for potential suitors.
This 2020 NFL mock draft is going to be a personal view on what each team should be looking to do in the upcoming draft considering the quality of players available as well as team needs. This is not a prediction of the 2020 NFL Draft, but rather speculation as to what I personally think would be the best possible outcome for each ball club.
