It was a dream season for the Kansas City Chiefs. Now the focus shifts to the 2020 NFL Draft to fill some holes.

It was a dream season for the Kansas City Chiefs in 2019. After a couple of uncharacteristic losses midseason, combined with the rising Baltimore Ravens and steady New England Patriots, the outlook didn’t look good once again. However, the Chiefs bounced back late, downing the Pats in Foxborough and getting an assist from Miami to secure the two seed.

Things again looked bleak, as the Chiefs trailed 24-0 to the Texans in the divisional round. They somehow rattled off 41 straight, downed the Titans in Kansas City to win the AFC, and found themselves in Miami for Super Bowl 54.

Once again, down 20-10 in the fourth quarter, it would take another miracle. The good news was that Patrick Mahomes, Andy Reid and company had one more up their sleeve, putting up 21 unanswered en route to a Super Bowl title, their first in 50 years.

With an elite quarterback and plenty of weapons, this Chiefs team is poised to make more runs at titles. That starts by loading back up in the offseason.

The free agency period has been quiet for the most part concerning Kansas City. General Manager Brett Veach franchised defensive tackle Chris Jones, an important step to keeping him around for a long time. They brought back wide receiver Demarcus Robinson, and it’s tough to see them making more moves with the least amount of cap space in the league.

The focus will now shift to the 2020 NFL Draft, where the Chiefs will look to address their top needs. Let’s look at what the Chiefs need most in the draft to repeat.
