Pick Analysis. Isaiah Simmons. 52. Scouting Report. LB. Clemson. 11. player

Isaiah Simmons is a top-level prospect. He has excellent size (6-foot-4, 230 pounds) and athleticism. He is a converted safety and that is a big reason why he is so good in coverage, which is the most important aspect of linebackers in the modern NFL. He is also very good at both stopping the run and rushing the passer. Simmons is very NFL ready, he could step in and be one of the best or the very best player on this defense.

The biggest selling point to his game is his extreme versatility. According to a twitter post from ESPN’s Field Yates, this season he has lined up at safety for 218 snaps, slot corner for 286 snaps, outside linebacker for 160 snaps, inside/middle linebacker for 120 snaps, and perimeter corner for 17 snaps.

At the combine, he secured his place as one of the premier players of this class after posting a 4.39 40 yard dash time. Simply put, Simmons is an elite-level 2020 NFL Draft prospect who has massive upside at the next level. He is a tremendous natural playmaker who could be worth making a significant investment in.
